SHIPPING CONTAINERS TO COMMUNITY CENTER
Our good friend John Mashie at Veterans Healing Farm asked for help designing their new Community Center – a 40′ and 20′ shipping container organized around a large deck and gathering space. The 40′ container is a bunkhouse and the 20′ is the kitchen. John’s vision for VHF is as big as his heart – and it’s BIG.
We set out first to capture the ideas in John’s brain with a 3D model. From there, the drawings were developed and the fundraising for the project began. The permitting process was involved as they are in a 100 yr floodplain and needed engineering for the container footings/attachment and we designed these parts with help from our friend Joe Criscione at Mountain Contour Engineering.
ONGOING GOOD
The project has been a few years in the making and we just got word from VHF that some of the final touches are soon to be completed – just in time for the new harvest season. Please visit VHF website or stop by the farm – they are doing great things for the community and our veterans.
