WOOD SHED DESIGN/BUILD

Sometimes (well, quite often) I need to step away from the computer and get my tool belt on and fire up the power tools – all of them. This opportunity was sponsored by the Shepards up in Cataloochee, NC. Their old wood pile was substantial, wet, and most of what was towards the bottom was rotting. Making compost is wonderful, but not for your wood pile!

The need was to create a 4×10 structure with generous overhangs and room for plenty of storage for split logs up to 24″ long. Now, the pile can breath, dry out if needed, and be ready for the massive stone fireplace to roar to life.

Thanks Shepard family for a few days up in the high country and to my partner in crime, Dan Bowen. I enjoyed the opportunity to work with you again!
